With Curtis Crisler, moderated by Frank Fedele
Curtis L. Crisler's books are Dreamist: a mixed-genre novel, Tough Boy Sonatas; Pulling Scabs (nominated for a Pushcart), and his chapbook, Spill, won a Keyhole Chapbook Award from Keyhole Press. His new chapbook Soundtrack to Latchkey Boy has recently been released by Finishing Line Press. He also edited the nonfiction book, Leaving Me Behind: Writing a new me, on the Summer Bridge experience. He is the recipient of fellowships from VCCA, Cave Canem, Soul Mountain, and a guest resident at Hamline University, as well as the recipient of the Sterling Plumpp First Voices Poetry Award, an Indiana Arts Commission Grant, the Eric Hoffer Award, and was nominated for the Eliot Rosewater Award. His poetry has been adapted to theatrical productions in New York and Chicago, and he has been published in a variety of magazines, journals, and anthologies. Crisler is an Assistant Professor of English at Indiana University Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW).
Forty years ago, Frank Fedele took a college course in poetry from Anthony Hecht. Eight years ago, he started writing poetry--a direct result of that course. Some things take time. He has been a member of Naperville Writers Group for seven. He lives with his wife Susan in Glen Ellyn, and works in Hoffman Estates as a software developer.
In addition to our featured readers, members of the Naperville Writers Group, along with the members of the public, will read their poetry during the open mic.
